WEAR-TECH – DETECT – PREDICT – PROTECT™

“Our homegrown AI companion, MAHI™, is aware of its users’ environment and alerts the wearer and the caregivers if a vulnerable loved one inadvertently heads towards a hazard.”

A profound loss propelled an innovator in Hartland, WI, to create predictive safety technologies for global protection. Founded by Deepak Arora in the shadow of a personal tragedy – the accidental drowning of his daughter – Wear-Tech stands as a beacon of hope.

With a history at IBM, Deepak channeled his grief into creating Wear-Tech in 2021, pioneering the development of an AI guardian angel named MAHI, and assistive device technology to detect potential hazards, predict risks, and protect its users. His commitment transcends personal loss, aiming to shield others from similar fates. “The driving force for starting this company goes beyond our personal tragedy. It’s about the staggering number of people who endure these preventable tragedies every year,” Deepak shares, underscoring the universal impact of his mission.

THE GENESIS OF WEAR-TECH
Wear-Tech was born out of necessity. Deepak’s realization that the market lacked proactive, predictive safety technologies propelled him to leave IBM in 2022. He set out to fill this void with Wear-Tech’s wearable gadgets, focusing on prevention rather than reaction, which is especially crucial for vulnerable demographics like the elderly and children. This company isn’t just about products; it’s a mission to make safety an inherent part of daily living.

MAHI: A BEACON OF PROTECTION
MAHI stands at the core of Wear-Tech’s offerings – a wearable companion powered by AI designed to predict and prevent accidents before they happen. This device, which can be worn like a wristwatch or attached to clothing, represents a significant advancement in safety technology. It operates autonomously and with a higher degree of accuracy, requiring no direct interaction from the user, making it an ideal solution for all ages. “Our homegrown AI companion, MAHI, is aware of its users’ environment and alerts the wearer and the caregivers if a vulnerable loved one inadvertently heads towards a hazard,” Deepak notes, highlighting the technology’s proactive nature.

REDEFINING SAFETY WITH SIMPLICITY AND RESPECT
The company’s philosophy revolves around safeguarding individuals while preserving their independence and dignity. Eschewing traditional methods like gates or sensors, the company employs an intuitive mobile app for hazard mapping and wander management. This patent-published approach respects seniors’ autonomy, allowing them to maintain independence. “The first layer of protection activates the moment the wearer opens a door, instantly notifying a caregiver or loved one. Following this, the second layer of defense employs geofencing technology. This virtual boundary can be effortlessly created with just a finger or pencil on a tablet or smartphone, allowing you to customize its shape and size to your liking. This personalized boundary serves as a safeguard for your loved one, offering peace of mind and security,” he elucidates.

EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES AND AGING INDEPENDENTLY
With a focus on the aging population, Wear-Tech’s technology enables seniors to live independently, safely, and with dignity. However, its reach extends beyond elderly care, touching the lives of neurodivergent individuals and those under chronic condition management. This inclusive approach demonstrates Wear-Tech’s broader commitment to enhancing the quality of life across various communities.

A TESTAMENT TO INNOVATION AND LOCAL TALENT
Choosing Wisconsin as Wear-Tech’s birthplace was a deliberate decision by Deepak, not just as a tribute to his daughter but as a statement about the potential for innovation beyond traditional tech hubs. “We started the company in the state where our daughter, Mahi, was born, not only as a tribute but also to demonstrate that successful companies can be established anywhere and that talent is not limited by geographical boundaries,” he reflects. This commitment to local talent and the ability to attract expertise nationwide signals a new era of technological innovation and economic growth rooted in community values.

A LEGACY OF SAFETY AND INNOVATION
Deepak’s journey from experiencing unspeakable loss to spearheading global safety innovation encapsulates the essence of Wear-Tech. Through MAHI, he honors his daughter’s memory and sets a new standard in preventive safety technology. As Wear-Tech continues to evolve, its impact extends far beyond Milwaukee, offering a beacon of hope and a reminder of the transformative power of human resilience and technological ingenuity.
