Ready Rebound is a Health and Wellness Solution for first responders and their families. Through early injury detection and expedited, quality care, they significantly reduce time to recovery and decreases risk of injuries.

The Problem
When it comes to first responders, local governments are facing unique challenges. Departments are chronically understaffed. Recruiting talented personnel has never been more difficult. And cities are increasingly relying on overtime to cover gaps, further squeezing budgets and reducing other services.

Meanwhile, first responders perform physically and emotionally demanding work. They have the highest rate of orthopedic injuries of any profession in the US and experience higher rates of cardiac stress and occupational cancer. Injuries and health issues not only degrade first responders’ quality of life, preventing them from serving and protecting their communities, they also leave departments further understaffed, hampering public safety and incurring expensive overtime costs. For administrative staff, injuries mean greater caseloads, less time for higher-level objectives, higher health care costs, and greater exposure to litigation.

The Solution
The unique challenges facing local governments and their first responders calls for a unique solution. Ready Rebound is a holistic Health and Wellness Solution for first responders. Through immediate access to medical specialists, expedited speed to diagnosis, concierge care
support, and early injury detection, Ready Rebound reduces time to recovery, decreases risk of injuries, and augments case management and communication.

Ready Rebound provides expedited injury care navigation, so first responders and their families can see an orthopedic specialist within hours, not weeks. We expedite authorizations, appointments, diagnoses, and care, so members can focus on healing and administration can reallocate time for higher-level objectives. Our mission is for members to see a specialist within 48 hours of authorization and receive a definitive diagnosis within 72 hours.

How it Began
Founder, Luis Rivera, spent the bulk of his career as a Sports medicine trained Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist, specializing in rehabilitation at Arizona State University and his own clinics, treating professional athletes in Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the PGA Tour. He helped provide injured athletes with immediate access to care, a rapid definitive diagnosis, and care navigation support throughout their healing process.

When a friend who was working with Milwaukee Fire Department mentioned how difficult it was for their department firefighters to navigate the traditional healthcare system, often taking several months longer than professional athletes to recover from the same injuries, Luis came to a transformative realization. What if our nation’s first responders ould receive the same quality of care as professional athletes?

Luis founded Ready Rebound in 2015 to make the sports medicine model of expedited care and supportive navigation accessible to first responders and their families.

In 2022, David Reeves, a long-time tech executive, joined Ready Rebound as CEO and investor. Previously, David had served as President of OpenGov, the fastest-growing and leading government technology company in the country. From his experience working intimately with local governments, David understood the emerging challenges facing cities and their first responders.

With David’s understanding of the challenges faced by governments, Ready Rebound expanded its offering into The Ready Rebound Health and Wellness Solution, where several services promote health and wellness throughout the first responders’ lifecycle.

Luis and David have led Ready Rebound to quickly expand, offering services to over 350 departments in 18 states.

Expansion of Services
Ready Rebound does not just respond to injuries, they also work to reduce their occurrence. Ready Rebound Early Detection leverages a 3D-movement assessment to identify high-risk orthopedic regions and automatically assign tailored strength and conditioning programming to reduce the risk of catastrophic injuries.

To address the troubling prevalence of cardiac health and occupational cancer abnormalities, Ready Rebound Cardiology & Oncology Navigation is a concierge navigation service to ensure members receive expedited care and empathetic support throughout a difficult and harrowing process.
