Not wanting to conform with the snack industry, Waldemiro Pereira founded Pinati Snacks in 2013. But the beginning was not easy. With little financial resources, he would buy healthy homemade cereal bars from a local couple in the metropolitan area in Curitiba and, with personalized packaging, sell them on to stores around town.
As he learned more about the market growth, in 2019 he decided to open a 1400 square meter food manufacturing plant in the metropolitan area of Curitiba. Today, Pinati directly employs 70+ people, mainly from Curitiba and with different levels of education.
The snacks are already being distributed in more than 10-thousand places all over Brazil, such as: supermarkets, pharmacies, specialized markets, natural food stores, e-commerce and others. More recently, Pinati has been working on expanding the operation to take its healthy snacks abroad, planning to export them to countries outside of Brazil.
Pinati aims to make a difference in the life of others by manufacturing a delicious, innovative and healthy snack. The northern star that guides all employees is that by 2030 there will be one Pinati Snack for every two Brazilians, which equals 100 million snacks a year. In 2023, the company produced about 13 million snacks.
“There is ground to cover, but Pinati does not lack motivation to do so. The world needs to change and become a healthier place, Pinati is part of this change” — Waldemiro, CEO
