Lactec is one of Brazil’s largest private, self-sustaining and non-profit research centers, which for over 60-years has been at the service of the market and society, offering solutions based on science, technology and innovation. It operates strongly in the Energy, Sanitation, Environment, Industry and Infrastructure markets, throughout the innovation cycle, from R&D, testing and analysis to the execution of complex processes.
There are more than 500 Research, Development and Innovation projects in its Portfolio, with a staff of approximately 300 professionals with solid market experience, including masters and doctors, to offer highly specialized consultancy to support decisions, feasibility studies, regulatory analysis, technological and technical consultancy, as well as future scenarios.
With recognized authority in the environmental area, the portfolio of services effectively contributes to clients being aligned with sustainable business and development practices. Lactec’s ESG initiatives are aligned with the Environmental, Social and Governance pillars, in line with the UN’s sustainable development goals, both in global actions and in the portfolio of services provided to the market.
The institution is an Embrapii Embedded Electronics Unit for the development of Automation, Measurement, Monitoring and Electric Mobility projects. In 2023, it became Embrabii Center of Excellence in Intelligent and Connected Hardware Platforms in the area of Electromobility and Smart Grids. It also has an innovation hub, Go4, which encourages startups and is aimed at developing scalable solutions with high added value, co-innovation and the transformation of ideas into businesses.
