New Jersey values women’s rights and recently reaffirmed those values by codifying a woman’s right to reproductive health care. We value families, offering one of the few state-level paid family leave programs with up to 12 weeks of paid leave. And New Jersey has some of the strongest anti-discrimination policies to protect people of different sexual orientations and gender identities. We allow transgender individuals to amend their birth certificates to match their gender expression and were the first state to mandate the inclusion of LGBTQ+ history in public school curriculums.
