The Brazilian Association of Information Technology Companie of Paraná (Assespro-Paraná), established in the 1980s, is a key regional branch of the influential Assespro-Paraná Federation, which began in the late 1970s. Celebrating four decades in Paraná, the organization is dedicated to fostering innovation in the state.
Assespro-Paraná’s significant engagement in various projects elevates its national stature, particularly in a crucial period for the tech sector. Based in Curitiba, renowned as a global leader in smart city technology, the organization plays a pivotal role in driving collective efforts toward transformative impacts.
A highlight of Assespro-Paraná’s journey is its involvement in Vale do Pinhão, an innovative ecosystem in Brazil. The organization is integral to Curitiba’s leadership in innovative and sustainable development, focusing on enhancing citizen quality of life and contributing to the city’s transformation into an economic, sustainable, and smart hub.
Assespro-Paraná, committed to boosting local entrepreneurs, created the Innovation Guidebook, titled “Paraná Solutions of Technology for Smart Cities.” This pioneering manual, developed in collaboration with the General Superintendence of Innovation (SGI), Sebrae-PR, and the Institute of Smart Cities (ICI), aims to improve public services through innovation. It features a comprehensive compilation of startups, their technologies, and contact information, fostering Curitiba’s projection and encouraging other municipalities in the state to pursue similar innovative paths.
The organization is instrumental in Curitiba’s evolution into a technology hub, advocating for supportive measures and incentives. Annually, Assespro-Paraná organizes over 200 events and programs, connecting with over 20 countries and generating business opportunities for its members, with more than 500 transactions annually. Representing over 300 companies and an extended network of 700, its influence is far-reaching.
Since 2022, Assespro-Paraná has been led by Josefina Gonzalez, the first woman president in its history. With over 30 years of experience, her leadership focuses on business growth, promoting female participation, and enhancing job and income generation, while advocating for flexible IT entrepreneurship laws.
Assespro-Paraná has set an ambitious goal for 2035: to position Paraná as a leading tech business hub in Latin America. This vision encompasses delivering quality solutions, uniting member interests, and establishing the state as a technological reference in the region.
To achieve this, Assespro-Paraná focuses on professionalization, increasing representativeness, and expanding technology and innovation hubs, areas where both Assespro and Curitiba have shown considerable expertise.
