Zipnosis

Revs up the slow-moving machine of traditional healthcare

INNOVATIONS

OF THE WORLD

FOR TODAY'S BIG THINKERS

The Zipnosis team believes that healthcare shouldn’t have to settle for the status quo. As their Manifesto reads, “We thought there had to be a better way. So we’re doing it. And we’re teaming up with leaders who know it’s time for the traditional healthcare model to get out of its own way.”

The company was born in 2009, when co-founder and CEO Jon Pearce was an MBA student at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Pearce was driven by two things: 1. The idea that the mobile phone would be the future of healthcare, and 2. A Big Hairy Audacious Goal of getting the transactional cost of healthcare down to $0.

Zipnosis launched as a D2C virtual urgent care company, partnering with healthcare entities like Minute Clinic, that focused on an easy and convenient user experience for patients. However, Pearce’s vision was ahead of its time. In the early 2010s adoption was low in the D2C space. In 2015, Zipnosis made a pivot to become a white-label virtual care platform for health systems across the country, one designed with empathy for the end users of virtual care—providers and patients. Zipnosis keeps healthcare local by empowering physicians and their health system partners to connect with and treat their patients virtually on a platform that is user friendly, modern, and brings radical efficiencies to their health systems. The device-agnostic virtual care also offers patients greater choice and convenience.

Today, Zipnosis is an industry leader in virtual care and giving health systems a holistic Digital Front Door®, helping patients navigate the complexities of healthcare and get to the best point of care within a health system. That means less wasted time, energy, and resources for health systems. And it means face to-face help when patients need it, and virtual solutions when they don’t. The Zipnosis platform is flexible,  enabling healthcare organizations to create virtual care workflows to meet their  unique needs and integrate digital tools into any line of care.

Zipnosis customers also get a team of relentless allies committed to helping their organizations continue  to evolve their virtual care programs for the future, manage change when doing so, and meet their end goals.

Pearce still has a BHAG of getting the transactional cost of healthcare down to $0, but feels pretty great about the progress we’ve made getting it down to $5. And he feels even better about Zipnosis being an agent of change in healthcare, pushing health systems to not only treat patients like consumers but to improve the human experience by integrating digital tools into their care models.
