Industrial operations rely on data to ensure the efficiency and safety of their processes. However, the information that the operators need to carry out their routines safely and efficiently is spread among a multitude of data sources, reports, systems, and documents. That’s where Vidya Technology comes in.
Founded in 2013 at COPPE/UFRJ (Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute of Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), Vidya Technology’s journey has been consistently focusing on developing hardware and software solutions for monitoring corrosion, integrity, and performance in complex industrial process plants.
Central to Vidya Technology’s solutions is its flagship, the AI-driven Vidya Software Platform, which visually contextualizes operational and field reality capture data, streamlining inspection, maintenance, and engineering processes. It utilizes 3D virtual representation, heatmaps, autonomously identifies and classifies anomalies using computer vision, optimizes alert management, and integrates seamlessly the technological environment of industrial operations. This not only reduces equipment intervention time but also significantly minimizes the need for People on Board (POB).
Otavio Correa, CEO of Vidya Technology, underscores the company’s commitment, stating “Throughout our journey, what drives us is the purpose of making industrial operations safer, more efficient, autonomous, and sustainable. It is with this goal, alongside the engineering, hardware, and software expertise of the multidisciplinary team, that we create innovative solutions to support data-based decision making for managers and industrial operators.”
This pursuit of innovation has not gone unnoticed. Over the years, the company has been recognized by the 100 Open Startups ranking for three years in a row, earning the titles of Top 8 Industry Startup (2018), Top 5 Industry Startup (2019), and Top 5 New Trends in 2020. In 2022, the company received international recognition at ATCE through the Energy Challenge program, promoted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). One was the recognition as a “rising star,” chosen by the judges as one of the most promising companies, and another as the “public choice,” being the most voted by the audience in that edition.
Further, in early 2023, Vidya Technology was a finalist in the Corrosion Innovations Award by Materials and Performance, an initiative of the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP).
As Vidya Technology continues to push the boundaries of innovation, the company remains dedicated to shaping a future where industrial operations thrive with enhanced safety, sustainability, and efficiency.
