WORDS OF WISDOM:
Sustainability as a norm. It’s been used and heard for some time, but now we are at a turning point. Customers have joined institutions in their expectation for transparency from companies, with regards to their commitments in building a sustainable future for themselves, as well as the communities and the environment they evolve in. More and more people are becoming what we call “SmartHead” – a sustainability-conscious person who cares about a sustainable world.
However, sustainability is much more than environmental and social issues. It’s about adapting a new and modern type of economy that will influence everything and everyone. It already influences legislation, the creation of new industries, the transformation of companies, and investments into sustainable technology. It is one of the greatest business opportunities in modern history. It is not a threat to business, but rather the future of it.
Transforming your business from traditional to sustainable requires changing how you think, how you act, and how you conduct day-to-day business. Within the next few years, economic power will move into the hands of Millennials and Generation Z. These groups already consider sustainability to be a key element in deciding who they want to work for, buy from, cooperate with, and invest in.
Our vision at SmartHead is to create a world in which 100% of companies act in a sustainable way. We contribute to elevating business to a new level. From a purely profit-seeking strategy to a strategy of creating shared value. Companies of all sizes, whether SMEs or large enterprises, no matter the industry, can contribute to this movement. From switching from conventional to an FSC certified paper, to adapting sustainable production methods. Every little action counts, contributes to sustainable development, and inspires others.
