NOTE FROM FOUNDER
A few years ago, I realized how strenuous it is for some to come up with or present a thoughtful gift for any occasion. The idea of The Gift Place grew from my passion to create a gift by simply sourcing various items from different outlets to create one impactful gift. The idea is to bring about the importance of gifting in fostering meaningful relationships.
We are proud to be a youth-led, woman-owned personal gifting business. Our gifts are tailor-made from scratch according to age, gender, and occasion. We want to bring a smile to our customers’ faces. Sometimes it’s the simple act of showing appreciation to your employee, an exciting announcement, or a get well soon gesture. We aim to have our customers feel like they are important to another person on that particular day.

- We started operations in the year 2015.
- We run a small work-from-home station that allows us to be comfortable and creative in our own space.
- Each gift is packaged differently from previous packages, making it special and unique in its own way.
- The business operates in Francistown, but we are not limited to making packages for Francistown only. We courier nationwide.
HOW HAS THE GIFTING BUSINESS BEEN LIKE DURING THE PANDEMIC?
There have been ups and downs during this period, but the truth is: Because people are not gathering as often as they would have loved to, there is a great regret about missing traditional holiday gatherings and social events. This, in fact, has been the real reason why we continue to drive sales this year. Opportunities for growth lie in the innovative options that help consumers create the holiday/occasion cheer they are craving.
WHAT ARE YOU PROUD OF AS A SMALL BUSINESS?
We are proud of being able to bring unique gifting solutions to our customers at an affordable cost. We are also proud of being able to rope in other young people to teach and help assist us during the time we feel overwhelmed with orders for that particular week, especially seasonal orders like Valentine’s Day.
CLOSING NOTE FROM FOUNDER
Find your passion and roll with it. The post-pandemic era has given us all the impetus to think outside the box. As a young entrepreneur mother, I have found a balance in being able to engage in what I really want and I juggle that with raising young children. Find what it is you love doing or creating, and then offer that to us as your service.
OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The simplicity of our service is that we do everything for you. Right from discussing the budget and the amenities to include in the gift, as well as the type of delivery. We compile and package beautiful, themed gifts for the occasion presented to us. We package the gift in a basket, box, gift bag, or even a wooden gift crate, all according to the customer’s specification. We can also engrave and personalize the gift for individuals or groups. Our gifts are tailor-made for children as young as two (2) years old and adults.
