Tech Nation’s story began in Shoreditch in 2011, launched by the then Prime Minister David Cameron, to support the East London tech cluster known as London Tech City — or Silicon Roundabout. Since then we’ve been on a journey, spreading our activities to cover other parts of the UK including setting up Tech North to run programmes across the North of England. In November 2017, then Prime Minister Theresa May and Chancellor Philip Hammond announced the launch of Tech Nation, consolidating Tech City UK and Tech North’s impact.
Now as Tech Nation, we’re expanding our network to reach all corners and clusters of the UK. As part of the initial rollout, we hired a team of Entrepreneur Engagement Managers to connect, collaborate and celebrate scaling tech companies; Vicky Hunter is our South West representative, based in Bristol.
With a strong tech startup ecosystem growing across the UK, we are now focused on supporting the most ambitious with their journey to scale. We do this through growth programmes, digital entrepreneurship skills, a visa scheme for exceptional talent, and by championing the UK’s digital sector through data, stories and media campaigns.
If you’re a tech entrepreneur, we have a programme for every stage of your business growth. Join our network and you’ll benefit from peer-to-peer learning, access to world-class scale coaches, and connections that will help you solve your business challenges.
