Sportsdigita’s story begins with CEO & Founder Angelina Lawton. Her career in sports began in 2008 with the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning as the Senior VP of Corporate Communications.

Anything with a Lightning logo on it was fair game under Lawton’s leadership. It was during her time with the Lightning that her team created the first- ever in-house creative agency for a professional sports team. After witnessing the success she had with that decision, she gained the confidence needed to start her own business.

 

Taking risks, Lawton founded Sportsdigita in 2011 with her experience at the Lightning top of mind driving her vision. Sportsdigita’s cloud-based presentation platform, Digideck, is now used by over 350 sports and enterprise organizations worldwide and is growing every year.

Lawton has been recognized for her leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, receiving many awards and accolades since founding the company. Lawton’s most prestigious recognition came in 2018 when she was named to Forbes’ List of the Most Powerful Women in US Sports among the likes of Serena Williams, Billie Jean King, and other icons. Most recently, Lawton was awarded the 2019 Silver Stevie Award for Women in Business in the category of Female Entrepreneur of the Year – Business Products. Lawton is also a Cynopsis Media, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, and Eureka! Innovation Award winner, among others.
