A leader in the Laboratory Industry
Sonora Quest Laboratories, an independently run joint venture formed in 1997 between Banner Health and Quest Diagnostics, is the nation’s largest integrated laboratory system with approximately 3,200 employees serving more than 22,000 patients every day throughout Arizona. As the market share leader in clinical laboratory testing in Arizona, we serve the entire continuum of care. Our laboratories in Tempe, Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott, and Yuma serve all Arizonans.
Sonora Quest Laboratories is proud to be a leader in the laboratory industry by offering innovative and convenient solutions to improve the health of our communities.
One such solution is our technology-based analytics product called Actionable Insights Management™ (AIM). This software-based solution provides healthcare providers with near real-time data and insights to identify risks within their patient populations and track individual patients facing chronic conditions, including those with diabetes and chronic kidney disease; ultimately, improving health outcomes.
Sonora Quest is also leading the way to empower our patients with Direct Access Testing (DAT) through our My Lab ReQuest™ service that allows consumers to order laboratory tests without a doctor’s order or insurance. Consumers can select from a menu of approximately 70 affordably priced lab tests to monitor personal wellness goals and chronic conditions, or simply prefer the confidentiality that this service provides. Since its launch, My Lab ReQuest has enabled consumers in Arizona to take control of their health.
Another way Sonora Quest Laboratories is offering access, convenience, and engagement to our customers is by collaborating with Safeway to open Patient Service Centers (PSCs) at 16 Safeway locations throughout Arizona with plans to continue expanding. Sonora Quest’s step into the retail landscape reflects the company’s vision to provide services that align with the changes in the consumer-driven healthcare landscape.
New in 2019, Sonora Quest launched mobile sample collection services, currently operating in Maricopa County only. The service provides consumers with the option to schedule an appointment with a Sonora Quest phlebotomist to come to their home or place of business to perform blood collection for lab testing. This service exemplifies Sonora Quest’s commitment to providing easier access to high-quality lab services.
Sonora Quest Laboratories adheres to the highest standards of clinical laboratory operations, quality assurance, and control. All of our laboratories are fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and certified by federal and state agencies. We were the first laboratory in Arizona to introduce Six Sigma quality to the healthcare services field in 2000.
We have been recognized for our hard work and commitment to patient care. We are the only healthcare company ever to receive our state’s highest quality award, the Arizona Governor’s Award for Quality (no healthcare organization has attained this award since). Other recent awards include a 2017 IMPACT Award for Exceptional Innovator from the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce; nine consecutive #1 Bioscience Company in Arizona by Ranking Arizona/AZ Big Media, most recently in 2020; and ten consecutive Top 40 Most Admired Companies in Arizona recognitions by az magazine/Best Companies AZ, most recently in 2019.
The Future of Innovation
As a full-service laboratory and leader in the Arizona market, Sonora Quest Laboratories exclusively offers the RestoreU METHOD program for memory loss and cognitive decline, BeScreened CRC blood test for colorectal cancer screening, and mobile phlebotomy services for home collections. Furthermore, our investment in tools like AIM and partnership with BaseHealth, pave the way in transforming lab data into actionable information to help healthcare providers with population health and disease state management.
