The AI-powered communication surveillance platform, Relativity Trace, proactively detects regulatory misconduct like insider trading, collusion, and other non-compliant behavior. Relativity has more than 300,000 enabled users in 48+ countries serving thousands of organizations globally primarily in legal, financial services, and government sectors, including the U.S. Department of Justice and 199 of the Am Law 200. Our story
We built Relativity in 2001 to improve the manual process of legal discovery. But the more problems we solved, the more opportunity we saw. With so much information being produced, we realized that the truth—the facts that matter—is hard to find.
And as unstructured data multiplies and diversifies, we’re finding more ways in more industries to get people to the information they need. At Relativity, we are connectors. We connect people to information—and people to each other—to make sure the truth is never out of reach. We believe when powerful technology and engaged users mesh, we all grow. Together.
Today, we’re a team of more than 1,300 people living and working around the world, united by one mission: to help our customers organize data, discover the truth, and act on it.

Our home
We believe giving back isn’t a choice—it’s a responsibility. We got our start in Chicago, and it’s an important part of who we are. Our community outreach efforts were borne from seeing how we could use our unique skills to help our city, particularly with access to technology. Now, our community outreach program works to ensure that youth in all our communities have access to the technology, equipment, and training they need to be successful in today’s work environment.
Our future
Though we’re based in Chicago, we’ve grown into a global company, with offices in London, Krakow, Hong Kong, and more. But we’ll never leave our hometown, where we’ve helped create the foundation for tech growth in what’s become known as the Silicon Prairie. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.
