Poppy Flowers, the fastest-growing wedding florist in the country, is revolutionizing the wedding and floral industries with its innovative booking and fulfillment platform for wedding flowers. Poppy’s platform offers a more enjoyable, fun, and transparent experience for couples, florists, and farmers, distinguishing itself in a $5 billion industry. Since its founding in 2019, Poppy has been the florist of choice for over 4,000 weddings across more than 70 U.S. cities.

Poppy’s digital platform provides couples with instant, customized wedding floral proposals, complete with images of real Poppy floral designs and on-demand pricing. This technological advancement, combined with their experienced in-house team of floral consultants, coordinators, and designers, ensures a seamless fulfillment and installation process for wedding flowers. Poppy’s competitive advantages include a deep farm-direct supply chain and the pioneering Poppy Floral Designer Network, which boasts over 800 floral designers. This network enables the company to scale effectively across the U.S., offering an average order value of around $3,000—and ensuring clients receive abundant and affordable flowers within their budget.

The company’s recent Series A funding will support further investment in its product experience for couples purchasing wedding flowers and the growth of its marketing and executive teams. In the coming months, Poppy plans to expand to more states and continue investing in major markets like New York, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, California, and Texas.

Founder and CEO of Poppy, Cameron Hardesty, explained, “Before Poppy, couples seeking custom wedding flowers at affordable prices had few options—DIY or compromising their vision. An antiquated supply chain meant floral designers had to charge a high markup to turn a profit. We’ve enabled couples to get the personalized wedding flowers they desire while staying on budget. We’ve heard from thousands of Poppy customers that our personal, creative, and collaborative platform, and integration of local floral designers made the experience magical. I started this business to transform the floral industry in a way that creates value for couples, florists, and farmers. This new funding will allow us to expand our reach and help more couples access their dream wedding flowers at affordable prices and ensure designers earn what they deserve.”

Meagan Malm, Principal at Michigan Capital Network, praised Poppy’s innovative business model, stating, “Poppy transforms the process of buying wedding flowers into a seamless digital experience. This approach delivers a tangible competitive advantage in the mostly offline wedding flower industry. We’re constantly looking for entrepreneurs who change the market paradigm and better serve their customers, and Cameron Hardesty and her team have definitely done that with Poppy.”

Chris Langford, Partner of IDEA Fund Partners and Poppy board member, added, “The most important consideration at the seed stage for us is founder/market fit; is the person or team building this solution the absolute right person to do so. With Poppy, this was immediately evident.

Cameron is a visionary founder and seasoned operator with a deep understanding of her customers, her suppliers, and the path to creating massive improvements tailored to the needs of a modern bride and groom. She has surrounded herself with world-class talent across technology, operations, and finance while expanding Poppy’s presence across the U.S. Our conviction in the market opportunity, team, and product experience of Poppy has grown exponentially since our first investment, and we are grateful to continue to invest in and partner with Cameron and her team on their journey.

Poppy, a modern, digital-first wedding florist for couples in the U.S., offers a personalized, transparent, and fun process for obtaining the wedding flowers of their dreams. Founded by floral industry veteran Cameron Hardesty in 2019, Poppy is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and San Francisco, CA. Cameron’s background includes executive merchandising experience at UrbanStems and training under the Chief Floral Designer of The White House.
