The need for companies to innovate is no longer to be demonstrated in a world where product development is happening on increasingly shorter cycles and where competition is more intense and less predictable.
Innovation, whether it is related to the company’s products or its processes and equipment, is essential. Recognizing the importance of developing a high-quality next generation of design engineers, UQAR has placed this sector at the center of its vision and strategy for education and research through the activities of its Regional Support Platform for Innovation in Engineering (PARI-G).
The platform’s mission is to develop the design engineering skills required by Quebec industry and to transmit an entrepreneurial culture. It participates, along with its partners, in the development of products, specialized equipment, and processes and puts a lot of effort into promoting design engineering to businesses in Eastern Quebec.
Over the past fifteen years, more than 300 development and innovation projects have been completed thanks to PARI-G (formerly the NSERC-UQAR Chair in Design Engineering).
In collaboration with more than a hundred partner organizations, over 70% of the completed projects have resulted in functional physical prototypes.
Considered a real engine of development and highly appreciated by the business community, PARI-G faces an ever-increasing demand from companies for innovation support services. This growth of collaborations between UQAR and companies contributes to the development of an innovation culture in Eastern Quebec.
