By launching the 2022-2027 Québec Research and Innovation Investment Strategy (QRIIS2) and creating the role of chief innovator, our government has committed to putting innovation front and centre in Québec’s economic development in the coming years.
More than ever, we want to support all those who have the desire to innovate. We want to establish a genuine relationship between research and innovation. We want to help businesses connect with the right resources. We’ve got ambitious entrepreneurs in Québec, and we’ve got the obligation to ensure they have the right tools to fully bring their ideas to life.
Invent, develop and market are the watchwords of the QRIIS2. The strategy highlights the key role that research and innovation play in enhancing our productivity, thereby creating collective wealth for the Québec of tomorrow.
It’s not always easy to innovate. The challenges around the transfer, development and commercialization of our ideas continue to pose challenges. The creation of an environment conducive to innovation is an essential condition to maximize opportunities and revenue. The publication of this work helps showcase Québec expertise at accomplishing this and offers inspiring examples from all around us. I’d like to use this message to applaud the participation of all the organizations and individuals presented in these pages, and the leadership of those who have supported the publication of this book, including the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec. This project brings together an important host of drivers in Québec’s innovation ecosystem. It’s a strong symbol of our innovators’ talent for collaboration and their mobilization around mutual projects.
