The Maritime Industry Is Undergoing A Major Technological Evolution Towards The Digitalization And Automation Of Its Activities- Luís Filipe Baptista, President, Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique
At ENIDH we are adapting quickly to new teaching technologies, namely distance learning, the acquisition of new state-of-the-art computer programs and advanced simulators, in order to provide excellent teaching in the maritime and port area.
We are also developing relevant projects in cooperation with universities and research centers on innovative topics such as digitization of maritime transport, sustainable shipping, etc.
The College is in an excellent region for nautical studies, located by the sea in a highly developed municipality, surrounded by technology-based companies. The municipality of Oeiras has been investing in the development of science, technology and innovation under the acronym Oeiras Valley and ENIDH will benefit greatly from the integration in this project. We hope to develop the College in a very significant way in the coming years in collaboration with the municipality of Oeiras.
Young people who intend to attend higher education with quality and excellent professional opportunities, may find in ENIDH the most appropriate institution to achieve these objectives. We have an excellent level of education and young people leave the College very well prepared for the challenges they will face in the job market.
The maritime industry is undergoing a major technological evolution towards the digitalization and automation of its activities. In this way, the College will have to invest in offering courses aimed at new technologies such as IoT applied to shipping, IT applied to ports, etc. Potential obstacles lie in the lack of public funding to support the College activities and the difficulty in attracting more students to courses in the engineering field.
