Tampa Bay Tech Entrepreneur Gives Back Through Photography

As Featured In:

A native of Miami, Lance Raab moved to Tampa in 1982 to attend the University of South Florida. After graduating with a business degree in Information Systems, Lance has spent the last 35 years starting, growing, selling, advising and investing in Tampa Bay technology companies.

After selling his software company, Lance, who was once a programmer with a passion for building software applications, discovered photography as a new creative outlet. This art form provided a new lens to view and share the beautiful landscape of the Tampa Bay community.

A curious and avid traveler, Lance brings his camera gear along wherever he goes, capturing images throughout the world. “I travel quite a bit, but Tampa Bay is still my favorite. We have it all here – beaches, downtown skylines, parks, and the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets.”

Lance particularly likes to shoot landscape photography, and his work has appeared in the media, government, and businesses throughout Tampa Bay and beyond. Lance’s images are sold in several Bay Area stores, including the Tampa Bay Visitors Center in Downtown Tampa.

Photography has also generated a platform to give back. Lance frequently donates prints of his images to fundraisers for schools and non-profits throughout the Bay Area, helping to raise thousands of dollars for worthy causes.

Lance has contributed his artwork to the American Heart Association, Humane Society of Tampa Bay, YMCA, Lamplighters, Jesuit High School, Carrollwood Day School, Academy of the Holy Names, and Think Big for Kids, among others.

“Photography is a passion for me. I love the creative process of capturing and sharing the beauty of Tampa Bay and wherever I travel. I feel particularly fortunate that I can use my passion to give back to the community and help raise money for non-profit and educational organizations.”
