La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec, born from the merger between the Alliance numérique and La Guilde des développeurs de jeux indépendants du Québec, is a Cooperative which brings together video game studios, academic institutions and entrepreneurs from related fields established in Quebec.

With more than 300 members, the association, which represents the largest ecosystem of its kind in the world, has the mandate to promote the Quebec video game industry at the local and international levels through support for its members and the mutualization of resources and activities: advocacy, networking, support for entrepreneurship and regional development. We also develop strategic partnerships to foster cooperation between industries and promote innovation, be it technological, production or narrative, amongst members.

Success story
In 1997, the government made the decision to position Quebec as a key player in the global video game industry. Since then, in 25 years, Quebec has climbed to the top positions of the international industry’s podium.

Thanks to this bold initiative, Quebec’s video game industry now accounts for more than $1.31 billion in economic impact and employs over 14,500 people. The reputation of our skills and our economic success have made Quebec a world leader in this sector.

An ecosystem that fosters innovation
As an important entrepreneurial force, the industry maintains important links with the university and college research and innovation communities, as well as with various related innovative technological sectors throughout Quebec.

Support programs for innovation and entrepreneurship
La Guilde directly supports innovation and entrepreneurship through its Innovation and Caravane programs, among others.

Organized in close collaboration with the Centre de développement et de recherche en intelligence numérique (CDRIN), the Innovation program combines competition, mentoring and direct support for innovation and also offers grants to the most promising companies in terms of innovation, both technological and in terms of process and narrative. In total, more than $85,000 in grants and hundreds of hours of volunteer coaching have been awarded over the past three years to innovating companies.
