Imagia’s story is a personal one. In 2014, Alexandre Le Bouthillier, Co-Founder and Chief Corporate Officer at Imagia, received a call from his father who informed him that he was diagnosed with cancer. Alexandre immersed himself into everything he could read about the disease. During that time, artificial intelligence was on the rise and Alexandre saw an opportunity to help his father but also many other people diagnosed with this dreadful disease.
With the help of Yoshua Bengio, the world-renowned co-father of deep learning, Alexandre, along with his long-time friend, Nicolas Chapados, co-founded Imagia in 2015, an AI healthcare company that today develops digital medical innovations that improve the health of cancer patients and those afflicted with other high-burden diseases. In the last five years, the company has witnessed an immense growth.
Through its collaborative ecosystem, led by their CTO, Florent Chandelier, and a team of experts in AI and medical field, Imagia EVIDENSTM enables hospitals, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and diagnostic companies around the world to access and utilize healthcare data while preserving data privacy. This technology is currently being deployed as part of the Digital Health Discovery Platform, a $200M pan-canadian ISED supported initiative, co-lead by the Terry Fox Research Institute and Imagia.
