A Culture of Innovation
We started as a small team spun off from a university research project. Innovation has always been our raison d’être. Now, more than 500 strong, we co-innovate with our clients to help them navigate the profound changes under way in the public transit and postal industries.
We allocate a third of our resources to R&D, and we have always maintained close ties with universities and research institutes. Our software tools incorporate the latest advancements from operations research.
Exciting Times Ahead
Deep learning, the subset of AI allowing software to train itself to perform tasks, holds great promise for GIRO’s software tools. It opens the door to the software being able to teach itself to improve its optimization capabilities and better supporting decision-making.
Our partnership for research into deep learning with the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO) is just one example of innovative collaboration as we prepare for the exciting road ahead. Our software already tackles the complexities of scheduling and operating public transport with electric buses. Other technological innovations, from autonomous vehicles to drones, will transform the delivery of public transport and postal services. We are up for the challenge!
