“When we launched Fuel Venture Capital in 2017, a lot of people thought we were crazy,” Fuel Venture Capital’s Founding Partner and Managing Director Jeff Ransdell has often been quoted as saying. He’s not wrong. Back then, #MiamiTech wasn’t even a thought. But, now less than even years in, Fuel Venture Capital has more than $500 million in AUM, 33 portfolio companies, and is part of the dynamic community that is Miami Tech.

Founded in the heart of Miami with the goal of fueling a modern economy based on knowledge and vision, Fuel VC is industry-agnostic and globally diversified in its venture sourcing. It targets groundbreaking early and Mid-stage companies using disruptive technologies as a primary differentiating factor to transform how businesses and consumers transact (Fintech), consume daily (Marketplace), how they work to make a living (Enterprise Saas), and how they ultimately enjoy their lives (Entertainment Tech).

Fuel Venture Capital’s “founder-focused, investor-driven” approach balances a commitment to highly involved guidance to their portfolio companies to partner in building real profitable businesses and delivering enhanced risk-mitigated returns to its investors, ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, and institutions.

Fuel VC and its team are fixtures on TV shows on CNBC, Fox, Bloomberg, Benzinga, and beyond, featured in Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, and on the covers of magazines such as South Florida Business & Wealth, the South Florida Business Journal. Fuel’s Jeff Ransdell often appears on power lists such as South Florida Business Journal’s Ultimate CEO’s, Haute Living’s Haute 100.

At the same time, CIO and Managing Partner Maggie Vo has been named a Top VC by Insider and has been recognized as top powerful women in tech in both local and global lists. Fuel’s newest partner, Olivia Gaudree was recently named to Forbes30 Under 30 list.

To Fuel Venture Capital, the mission was apparent: investors deserve access to a more diversified global portfolio of creative economy companies. “Diversity is our power”, said Maggie Vo. We actively pursue diversity when assembling our team, recognizing that brilliant minds from diverse backgrounds and corners of the world offer unique perspectives. This diversity in thought forms the bedrock of our investment approach, extending to how we craft our global portfolio.

Fuel Venture Capital also believes founders are a central component in driving a company to success in the early stages. Some South Florida founders Fuel Venture Capital has invested in recently include Betr’s Joey Levy and Jake Paul, Recargapay’s Rodrigo Teijeiro, and AEXLAB’s Jonathan Ovadia and Albert Ovadia, among others.

Fuel has successfully deployed over $100 million to South Florida companies alone and over $20 million in 2023. In addition to the above-mentioned companies, others in South Florida include Terran Orbital, Taxfyle, Novopayment, Ubicquia, and more.

“Our thesis is that technology democratizes access to information and communications so founders can build their company anywhere and VCs like us could succeed in various places outside of Silicon Valley,” said Jeff Ransdell. Other notable companies include Soundtrack, Curve, Tradeshift, Lunar, CookUnity, and more.

Since 2017, Fuel VC has built a global brand and has become the top-of-mind Global Venture Capital Fund known for its elite intellectual firepower, work ethic, communication, transparency, results, and values. The VC firm has brilliantly executed on this mission and has become known and trusted as leaders globally.
