Laurent is a regular on the media circuit, seen on Oprah’s Live Your Best Life Tour, the Dr.Oz Show, TEDx talks, and many local news programs.
Laurent had an idea.
His idea was to create a space to support the fitness community.
Providing affordable expertly designed and fully equipped fitness and media studios with flexible rent options (whether it’s for a half hour or a year) so wellness professionals can run their business without the risk of owning or renting conventional spaces.
In addition to studio space, Laurent provides community-building events, continuing education opportunities, and business support.
This is how it all started.
Prior to the pandemic, Laurent was working out of a Washington DC local gym but was frustrated about the 50% cut the gym was taking.
He also had home clients which were great because he kept 100% of the earnings, but it ended up being such an inefficient use of his time because of all the traveling to and from clients’ houses (not factoring in the high cost of gas and the wear and tear on his vehicle). He considered getting his own studio but the costs associated were too high (buildout, equipment, rent, utilities, etc.).
Then, the pandemic hit. Everything shut down and wellness professionals were in trouble.
He started looking for an affordable, private and curated space to run his business but he couldn’t find one so he decided to develop a “model” studio for himself and used the model to create FlexPods.
FlexPods™’ mission is to empower a collective of fitness and wellness professionals to build their brand and business by providing fully equipped, turn-key studio space, the tools, entrepreneurial training, and support they need to be successful business owners.
Studios are available for wellness professionals including but not limited to personal trainers, physical therapists, yoga/ Pilates instructors, nutritionists, group fitness coaches, and content creators.
