ExperiSens is a college centre for the transfer of technologies and innovative social practices (CCTT) at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) that performs applied research and provides technical assistance, training, and information to tourism
and hospitality organizations and professionals while enriching the ITHQ’s educational mission.

Optimizing hospitality and creating welcoming environments
ExperiSens uses science and technology to understand and explain ways to optimize hospitality. Thanks to its research and development, ExperiSens helps foster a culture of hospitality excellence that revolves around the multisensory customer experience.

The research centre supports companies and particularly SMEs in creating welcoming environments and developing products, services, and management processes that enhance both the customer and employee experience.

Facilities for real-world research
For its research projects, ExperiSens has access to the ITHQ’s facilities and equipment, such as a sensory analysis laboratory, a culinary demonstration room, two teaching restaurants, meeting and banquet rooms, a 42-room hotel school, a travel office, and an experimental kitchen. These spaces serve as laboratories where research protocols can be carried out in optimal conditions with state-of-the-art equipment.
