Creating Game-changing 5g Technology

Ericsson enables communications service providers to capture the full value of connectivity. Through Networks, Digital Services, Managed Services, and Emerging Business, Ericsson helps customers go digital, increase efficiency and find new revenue streams.

Now, with a focus on 5G, the growth opportunities in mobile traffic are huge, growing eight times between 2017 and 2023.

With older technology generations predominantly addressing consumers (for Voice and Text in 2G to browsing in 3G and Higher speed data and Video in 4G), 5G will serve consumers AND multiple industries, and open new business opportunities across industries.

Driving 5G development, Ericsson sees the industry being propelled in three areas: Massive machine type communications, Critical machine type communications and Enhanced Mobile Broadband. Through these use cases, we’ll see incredibly diverse applications, including: Haptic Healthcare, driverless buses, fiber-equivalent residential access, and connecting billions of devices with very low energy consumption and low cost to ultra-reliability and very low latency.
