As Featured In:

An international competition connecting citizens, communities, entrepreneurs, researches, academics, and large institutions to cooperatively design a more socially responsbile future.

The Cooperathon is also a gathering of social entrepreneurs, change leaders and impact creators. The Cooperathon connects ecosystems and communities that share Desjardins’s vision for the planet and society.

4 MAJOR TRACKS TO REACH THE UNITED NATIONS’ SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The Cooperathon focuses on four main tracks – Finance, Health, Education and Energy/Environment – based on the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. The UN’s 17 goals are a call-to-action to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities while tackling climate change and environmental protection.

A 25-DAY IMMERSIVE JOURNEY

The Cooperathon is divided into five sprints, based on the Google Design Sprint. The Cooperathon is designed to fit around regular work schedules with general activities held on Saturdays and specialized workshops on weekday evenings. Participants are offered dozens of hours of optional – but strongly recommended – training. The sprints are the heart of the Cooperathon experience: it’s where truly innovative projects and inspirational teams get their start.
