The applications of AI applied to aerospace are numerous: aeronautics, civil aviation service, autonomy, embedded software and technologies, design, simulation, virtual environment, etc. Several initiatives, pilot projects and strategic agreements on AI at the national and international level have already been launched!
FOCUS ON DEEL PROJECT
(Dependable & Explainable Learning) CRIAQ’s DEEL project (signed as part of the partnership between IRT Saint Exupéry, CRIAQ and IVADO in 2018) has a budget of €15M on the French side and nearly $10M on the Quebec side. This major technological research project brings together researchers, engineers, operational safety specialists, certification experts and world-class data scientists to bring AI technologies to maturity and onto the boarding stage of new-generation aircrafts, spacecrafts and land vehicles.

FOSTERING COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION IN AEROSPACE
The Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec (CRIAQ) is a non-profit organization created in 2002 with the financial support of the Government of Quebec. Its mission is to increase the competitiveness of the aerospace industry by stimulating business innovation through collaborative R&D. Its role is to bring ecosystems together and develop a new generation of innovators to strengthen Québec’s technological leadership in cutting edge aerospace applications: sustainable aerospace, air mobility of the future and digital aviation.
