Sainte-Foy’s Centre d’enseignement et de recherche en foresterie (CERFO) is a college centre for the transfer of technology (CCTT). Our mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of technology and businesses, organizations and colleges in the Quebec forest sector.
For nearly 40 years, our experts have been drawing on scientific knowledge to achieve creative, innovative and effective solutions for our clients and partners in the fields of forestry (silviculture, forest management and operations), the environment and global change (wildlife
habitats, carbon management, physical and water environments) as well as forest remote sensing.
Our team brings together not only researchers, but also technical specialists in forestry, geomatics and bioecology with a mastery of state-of-the-art tools, such as drones and multiple sensors measuring various geospatial or environmental parameters. Through a close collaboration between researchers and technical specialists, we can generate specific and very precise data that allow for in-depth analysis (spatial modelling and artificial intelligence).
Our centre trains and supports a wide range of professionals working in forestry, agroforestry and urban planning who can count on our multidisciplinary team to help them enjoy a high degree of technological autonomy. Our team is also developing expertise in specialized online training for people of all levels.
CERFO is a member of the Synchronex CCTT Network and has carried out numerous projects in partnership with universities and colleges, government agencies and municipalities, private industry and various NPOs.
