Thus, the CÉPROCQ, early on, based its strategic priorities on green chemistry and sustainable development, which have now become essential to the growth of the industry.
The CÉPROCQ is one of the few centers in Quebec, or even in Canada, to offer a research infrastructure on a pilot scale, thereby filling a gap in the Quebec innovation chain. Indeed, the development of a product and/or a process in a laboratory must necessarily go through the scaling-up stage, i.e. the pilot scale. In this context, CÉPROCQ was able to benefit from a budget envelope to develop and expand its facilities by providing its customers with a multifunctional pilot hall that meets the needs of the industry. This site has been operational since fall 2007.
The CÉPROCQ expands its facilities to an INTEGRATED PRE-COMMERCIAL HALL. This facility will fill a major gap in our system: the lack of research and innovation facilities that can accompany companies to the gates of the market.
The realization of such an installation will make it possible to:
• Better support businesses and organizations in their research and innovation initiatives and programs;
• Be a powerful tool to accelerate the commercialization of innovative products;
• Contribute to the training of the next generation in science and engineering by offering college and university students a platform where they can put their knowledge into practice;
• Become a platform accessible to players in the ecosystem: other CCTTs, universities, research centers, etc.
• Promote and develop collaboration between CCTT-universities-industry (the key to economic growth) to accelerate market access by pooling resources and skills;
• Be a crossroads of science and technology for the development of the bio-economy, bio-food and packaging, the green economy, and sustainable development.
