AN AWARD-WINNING LAW FIRM
For almost 20 consecutive years, our law firm has received the very top rankings in the prestigious global legal rankings issued by Chambers and Partners and Legal500, and excellent rankings issued by IFLR1000.
We consider social responsibility very important and an integral part of our work. Our lawyers also actively provide pro bono advice, especially for the third sector (Bátor Tábor, Nadácia Zastavme korupciu, Bystriny).
We regularly contribute to charity projects and participate at charity events. In the past, financial resources gained from such events have been used towards, for e.g., the League Against Cancer projects, revitalization of Malá scéna theatre in Bratislava, the support of Anton Srholec Resoty social rehabilitation community, and many other activities. Our firm also participates at the largest corporate volunteering event in Bratislava – Naše mesto (Our City). In 2020, we had painted the premises of the Vagus organization. Last, but not the least, we have supported project#KtoPomozeSlovensku (Project “Who will help Slovakia” focused on the prevention of spreading, and the elimination of virus COVID-19).
Diversity and inclusion are important parts of our internal policies and practices. Our team consists of colleagues representing different nationalities and religions. The majority of our management and partners are women. We put great emphasis on gender equality and equal opportunity. Currently, we are working on enhancing the concept of gender-balanced language, in (not only) legal communication and texts. In 2018, our founding and managing partner Katarína Cechová was awarded the “Top Woman of Slovak Business” award by an expert jury, as well as by a public vote through a survey organized by the economic daily Hospodárske noviny. In the past four years since the award has been given, Katarína has been repeatedly recognized as a “Women Leader” in the prestigious IFLR1000 Women Leaders ranking awarding female transactional lawyers in the world. In 2018 and 2019, she was the only lawyer from Slovakia to have received the award. In 2021, our partner Lenka Šubeníková received this prestigious recognition.
Since 2001, we have been an active member of Lex Mundi, the leading global association of independent law firms. Thus, we profit from opportunities and benefits arising from international cooperation and the international environment, and are able to utilize this experience in cross-border transactions and other projects.
Since 2003, we have also been a member of the World Services Group, a global network connecting a wide range of leading companies providing professional and consulting services.
In addition, our lawyers are members of other prestigious international associations, such as the International Bar Association, AIJA, or EELA.
At the time of writing the text for “Innovate Bratislava”, we experienced another wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been trying, in various ways, to help our clients overcome its adverse effects. For example, we provide our client regular free advice on legal changes and regulations related to COVID-19 that are relevant to them. This has been met with a very positive response at this time of ever-changing legislation.
For the new era that awaits us, the winners will not be the strongest ones, but the ones that are the most flexible will make headway.
