Breadless was born out of necessity and passion. Founders Marc Howland, LaTresha (LC) Howland, and Ryan Eli Salter saw a gap in the market for meals that catered to modern lifestyles — healthy, fast, and satisfying. Marc, an Ivy League athlete turned finance professional, experienced this challenge firsthand.

“I’d spend long days juggling work and workouts, searching for food that was both energizing and convenient. Too often, I was stuck choosing between unhealthy fast food or bland, uninspiring options,” Marc recalls. “I knew we could create something better.

”Together, the trio began experimenting with the idea of sandwiches reimagined. By replacing traditional bread with nutrient-rich leafy greens like Swiss chard, collards, and romaine, they crafted meals that were bold in flavor and rich in nutrients.

“We wanted every bite to feel purposeful,” says LC. “Each ingredient is thoughtfully chosen to not only taste great but to fuel energy and ambition.

”Starting as a grassroots catering business at the University of Michigan and hosting pop-ups in Detroit gyms, Breadless quickly gained momentum. By 2022, they opened their first location, capturing the attention of their community. Today, with a second location in Rochester Hills, the founders are driven by a vision that extends beyond sandwiches.

“Our mission is about more than food, ”explains Ryan. “We’re creating a lifestyle movement, helping people see that eating well can be exciting, empowering, and, most importantly, accessible.”
