The Founder Behind the Mission
Founder and CEO Marcel Kringe built the company to solve one of agriculture’s most persistent challenges: grain loss at harvest. Raised on a multigenerational farm in Germany and trained in agricultural engineering and agronomy, he combined technical knowledge with hands-on experience across Canada, Russia, and Brazil before eventually settling in Manitoba.

That global perspective, combined with years spent working directly in harvest, shaped a practical approach to innovation: build tools that work in the field, are easy to use, and deliver clear value to farmers.
Solving a Costly Harvest Problem
While working on farms, Marcel saw that grain loss was often measured using methods that were slow, imprecise, and unsafe. This led to the development of the SmartPan System™, an innovative remote grain-loss monitoring system that provides operators with a safe and precise way of collecting grain-loss readings.

Today, the SmartPan™ helps farmers and industry partners improve combine calibration and reduce preventable loss. It was the breakthrough innovation that launched the company, but BranValt’s harvest optimization portfolio now also includes MAD Concaves™, The MiniCombine™, and The Harvest Academy™.

From Brandon, Manitoba, BranValt has grown from a founder-led startup into a global company, serving farmers in more than 45 countries. Today, the company employs nearly 30 people across Canada, Australia, and the United States, with the team continuing to grow. That reach isn’t accidental. It’s the result of a simple, unwavering commitment: practical innovation grounded in the real demands of harvest.
