THE ESPACE D’ACCÉLÉRATION ET DE CROISSANCE DU BAS-SAINT-LAURENT (EAC BSL) FACILITATES INNOVATION PROJECTS AND GROWS VALUE CREATION IN BAS-SAINT-LAURENT.

Our interventions include networking, collaboration and referral of experts who offer entrepreneurs technical and business support services.

Exemplary regional cooperation
The EAC BSL is led by the Collectif régional de développement (CRD). Created by the eight MRCs of Bas-Saint-Laurent, this consultation and planning organization’s mission is to promote and support the economic, social and cultural development of Bas-Saint-Laurent. The CRD thus fosters cross sectoral concertation between elected officials, government departments and civil society players in order to establish a shared vision for the region’s development.

Sustainable development of the territory and communities
The EAC BSL fits harmoniously into the BasSaint-Laurent entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, which relies on innovation to achieve a balance between developing natural resources and preserving living environments. This ecosystem includes four Créneaux d’excellence (Maple Syrup; Ecoconstruction; Marine Resources, Science and Technology; and Peat and Substrates), the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation and more than 330 social economy enterprises and cooperatives that contribute fully to the region’s economic development.

Knowledge development
The EAC BSL also benefits from the dynamism and exemplary collaboration of its teaching and applied research community, including UQAR, one of Canada’s leading universities in marine sciences, regional development and northern research. The region boasts fifteen diversified research centers, including seven CCTTs affiliated with our four CEGEPs, as well as several business accelerators, incubators and other entrepreneurial support organizations.

The EAC BSL collaborates with its community to enhance the capacity for innovation and sustainable development of our great and beautiful region.
