Barxie is a pet care marketplace for finding, scheduling, and managing appointments of pet grooming, dog training, pet sitting/boarding, dog walking and veterinary care, anchored by a SaaS platform for business management.
Barxie is the inspiration of two dog lovers, David Ocumarez and Fidel Hechavarria. In early 2017 David adopted Lucy, an adorable Shih Tzu rescued from a puppy mill before ending up at the dog rescue center in Miami. The pup was to be a gift for his daughter, and since then they’ve quickly become best friends.
David needed to find a professional pet groomer for Lucy and after asking for recommendations ended up in a nearby salon. The experience was awful, Lucy was in a crate for 4 hours waiting to be groomed, she ended up traumatized. After all, he decided to make pet care an enjoyable and healthy experience for pets, but he needed help. This was when he invited his good friend and partner in many endeavors, to join a new venture. Fidel became the co-founder of Barxie. David and Fidel founded Barxie with the mission to make pet care convenient and accessible. Our platform has two main components:
- The marketplace that faces pet parents and allows them to connect and book appointments with local pet groomers, pet sitters, dog trainers, dog walkers, and veterinarians.
- The SaaS platform that allows SMBs in the pet care space to manage their customers, services, availability, calendar, and appointments.
