At Alloy Growth Lab, entrepreneurs find more than a place to work. They enter a connected organization built to help businesses develop stronger ideas, build valuable relationships, access capital and create a lasting regional impact.
On any given day at Alloy Growth Lab, an entrepreneur may be building a circuit board, inspecting a component under a microscope, preparing for an important customer meeting or working through a growth challenge with an experienced advisor.
The work looks different from company to company, but the goal is the same: turn an ambitious idea into a scalable business.
Since 1989, Alloy Growth Lab has supported more than 400 startups and early-stage companies in Greater Cincinnati.
Its mixed-use campus gives entrepreneurs access to offices, laboratories, flexible workspace and a community of peers building companies alongside them.
But space is only part of the story.
Alloy Growth Lab is the entrepreneurial arm of Alloy Development Co., a non-profit economic development organization that helps businesses and communities create sustainable growth. Through the Alloy Growth Lab, Economic Development, and Commercial Capital divisions, Alloy meets businesses at different stages and connects them with the guidance, relationships and resources needed to move forward.
The result is a support system built around a simple idea: businesses are more likely to succeed when coaching, community and capital work together.

Grow Here
For entrepreneurs, growth rarely follows a straight line.
A founder may begin with a promising technology but needs help identifying the right customer. Another may have early revenue but lack a repeatable sales process. A company may be ready to raise capital, but needs stronger financial projections, a clearer market position or a more experienced leadership team.
Alloy Growth Lab works with founders to identify the most important next step for their businesses.
Alloy Growth Lab provides individualized coaching based on each company’s stage, industry and immediate priorities. Founders work with Alloy’s team and a network of experienced mentors to test assumptions, strengthen business models, prepare for investment and make better-informed decisions.
Programs such as Morning Mentoring give early-stage entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their businesses to experienced executives, investors and subject-matter experts. The objective is not simply to critique a presentation. It is to help entrepreneurs identify risks, clarify value propositions, recognize opportunities and leave with a clearer path forward.
That same practical approach extends throughout the Alloy Growth Lab.
Companies receive assistance with customer discovery, commercialization, financial strategy, fundraising, business development and organizational growth. They also benefit from working alongside other entrepreneurs who understand the uncertainty and persistence required to build something new.

In fiscal year 2025, the Growth Lab supported 121 startups, delivered approximately 3,300 hours of coaching and helped participating companies access $14 million in capital. Growth Lab member companies collectively generated approximately $23 million in revenue.
Those numbers reflect more than program participation. They represent companies hiring employees, developing technologies, winning customers and contributing new ideas to the regional economy.
Alloy Growth Lab has also earned national and international recognition for its work. It was ranked #45 on TIME and Statista’s inaugural list of America’s Best Incubators and Accelerators of 2026, named a Top 10 Public Business Incubator by UBI Global, and recognized by Inc. as a Power Partner.
Its greatest measure of success, however, remains the progress of the entrepreneurs it serves.

Connect Here
A strong company needs more than a strong founder—it needs relationships, tailored resources, and a supportive regional ecosystem. Through its Economic Development Office (EDO) work, Alloy Development Co. supports businesses at any stage of growth through two dedicated divisions:
- The Hamilton County Office of Small Business acts as a centralized hub that provides local entrepreneurs with no-cost, expert support to help them start, grow, and thrive. The office offers a comprehensive suite of core services, including personalized business coaching, targeted training, and vital assistance with securing capital.
- The Office of Innovation + Creativity program empowers second-stage companies by delivering essential technical assistance, strategic insights, and robust connectivity. By leveraging targeted market research and comprehensive support networks, we equip growing businesses with the tools essential for sustainable, long-term success.

Thrive Here
As companies mature, their needs change.
An established business may be ready to purchase its building, expand production or invest in new equipment. At that stage, access to the right financing can determine whether an opportunity moves forward.
Alloy Commercial Capital helps small and midsize businesses finance major long-term investments through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program.
SBA 504 financing can be used for owner-occupied commercial real estate, facility improvements and major equipment purchases. The program is designed to help businesses preserve working capital while making the investments necessary to grow.
The impact extends beyond the financing transaction.
When a company purchases a facility, expands its operations or invests in equipment, it can create jobs, strengthen its community and build an asset that supports its future.
During fiscal year 2025, Alloy Commercial Capital funded approximately $50.8 million in SBA 504 loans across 24 counties in Ohio and Kentucky. Those projects contributed to more than $158 million in total business investment and supported the creation or retention of more than 1,300 jobs.
The businesses behind those numbers include manufacturers, restaurants, professional-service firms, health care companies and other locally rooted employers. Each project represents an entrepreneur or leadership team making a long-term commitment to a company and a community.
Commercial Capital therefore completes an important part of the Alloy story. The Growth Lab helps companies develop. Economic Development connects businesses with communities and regional resources. Commercial Capital helps eligible companies make the investments that allow them to establish deeper roots and build lasting value.

One Alloy, Multiple Ways Forward
Businesses do not always enter Alloy through the same door.
A technology founder may begin at the Growth Lab with coaching and flexible workspace.
A neighborhood business may first connect with Alloy through the Hamilton County Office of Small Business. An established company may approach Commercial Capital when it is ready to purchase a facility or invest in new equipment.
Wherever the relationship begins, the objective is consistent: help the business understand its next opportunity and connect it with the resources to pursue it.
This integrated approach also allows relationships to continue as companies evolve.
A founder receiving early guidance today may become a major employer tomorrow. An established business may become a customer, mentor or pilot partner for a Growth Lab startup.
Each connection strengthens the next.
Alloy Development Co. is continuing to build those connections across Greater Cincinnati, Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Its work reflects a belief that its economic development impact is strongest when it supports both the entrepreneur with a new idea and the established business preparing for its next investment.
At Alloy, companies are not simply given a place to begin. They are connected to a broader pathway for progress.
They grow here.
They connect here.
And they thrive here.
