As a professional services company with leading capabilities in digital, cloud and security, Accenture combines unmatched experience and specialized skills across more than 40 industries. With its diverse workforce of 514,000 people, Accenture delivers on the promise of technology and human ingenuity every day, serving clients in more than 120 countries.
“Tampa Bay has the perfect ecosystem and momentum to drive and sustain innovation and growth, with a growing, diverse workforce, local colleges and universities, and more companies moving to the area, says Stuart Brown head of Tampa Bay’s Accenture office. “We are excited to be part of that mix and proud to say that we have a wealth of diverse talent”.
PATHWAYS FOR AN INCLUSIVE FUTURE OF WORK
Under the leadership of Stuart Brown, Accenture’s people aligned to the Tampa Bay office exhibit the global culture that is dedicated to creating “new skilling” pathways for an inclusive future of work — a future in which all workers have the motivation, means and opportunity to thrive in the digital economy.
Creating an inclusive future of work will require workers, employers, and workforce development organizations to collaborate and invest in building solutions towards the common goal of a stronger new skilling ecosystem. At Accenture, what is generally called “reskilling” is rather referred to as “new skilling” because skill-building is additive. When asked about the significance of the phrase “new skilling,” Stuart explained that, “We aim to provide workers with new skills to supplement their existing expertise, rather than discredit or discount what has already been learned.
LET THERE BE CHANGE
Not only is Accenture leading the way in shaping a more robust ecosystem of skilled workers qualified to address the technology market needs, but Accenture is also at the forefront of guiding the systemic change required by leaders across business sectors to reframe the conversation on technology and work. The pandemic has accelerated some of these changes, by moving people into a more virtual model and increasing adoption of some technologies, such as AI.
SCALING AI AND MAXIMIZING VALUE
AI remains a black box to large parts of most organizations. Accenture’s unique approach to scaling AI, analytics and automation—and the data that fuels it all—to power every single person and every single process. Effectively, by making AI everyone’s business across the enterprise, Accenture creates meaningful change for its clients—both in short-term successes and long-lasting transformation. Accenture believes that the ability to see the value of sound AI execution and make it a part of the businesses’ operating model is what sets companies apart. Accenture knows that leveraging AI technology across a business has the power to bring new outcomes—from gains in efficiency to productivity.
TECH HORIZON IN TAMPA
Accenture strongly believes that the technology market is very important to Tampa. Stuart says, “We have seen some new logos in Tampa that have allowed us to grow our local market, which is a sign of the health of the market. Tampa is uniquely positioned. The number one opportunity in the area is access to talent. We have three of the largest universities in the country within a 90-mile drive.”
The region is educating numerous high-tech skills professionals, and they are staying in Tampa, unlike other markets where Accenture operates. The company believes that there is high-tech talent, especially at the executive level, that has been imported in the past, that will instead be homegrown in the near future. Accenture is holding fast to the belief that technology innovation and a diverse workforce will continue to shape a cohesive vision that is starting to grow the region and bring multiple benefits to the area.
