DATAPROM is a Brazilian company, headquartered in Curitiba/PR and has nine branch offices in Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. We were born in August 1988 from the creativity of engineers Marcos Olandoski, Alberto Abujamra and Carlos Perufo, who came together to develop innovative systems, capable of combining applicability and technology.
At this time, the context was the urban innovation in the city, thanks to the “Serete Plan”, a project that designed the structural roads that used by the BRT (bus rapid transit) – a transport model designed in Curitiba and later exported to hundreds of countries around the world. During that decade, DATAPROM began the development of the DP40 (traffic controller), which adapts the planning and the integration of different models of transport.
Since then, DATAPROM has maintained in your DNA the mission to develop intelligent solutions, capable of improving the people’s quality of life.
We develop traffic controller solutions that reduce traffic jams with automated adjustments in the time of traffic lights according to the vehicles flow. The DATAPROM “smart button” for pedestrians extends the time of green signal for people with reduced mobility. This solution received the Prince Michael International Awards (PMIRSA) — the most important road safety award in the world.
For public transport, we implemented a pioneering way the complete management of the fleets and fare payments through the Electronic Ticketing System — a robust and fully auditable solution. Furthermore, we developed the Intelligent Selective Priority for buses, giving the fleet greater operational speed, reducing traffic jams and pollution levels.
In the security field, we integrated Electronic Fencing in the cities. This solution helps prevent crimes, using intelligence and data crossing. We also control access for people and goods at airports and ports. DATAPROM implemented the project that guaranteed to the Porto de Paranaguá the status of the first Brazilian public port to achieve the International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities (ISPS Code).
We have presence in the main capital cities of Brazil, such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte, Rio Branco, São Luís, Manaus, Goiânia, Cuiabá, Palmas, Vitória, Porto Velho, Brasília, Natal and in others in the Latin America.
We are always developing mobility and security solutions that effectively improve life in cities through technology and intelligence. Every year, we register innovative projects at Tecnoparque in Curitiba. An example of these projects is EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) payment in the city’s public transport, a solution integrated by DATAPROM with bus ticket validators, which allowed all public transport passengers to pay securely with debit and credit cards directly at the bus turnstiles and bus terminals.
The story of DATAPROM is like this. It is mixed with the development of intelligent solutions that have contributed to cities like Curitiba, for example, being recognized as a smart city model for the world.
