The Innovative Vehicule institute (IVI) is an innovation centre for vehicles of the future located in Saint-Jérôme. We specialize in electric, autonomous and connected vehicles.
Our applied research centre and CCTT is an affiliate of the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme. It was established in 1996 as a joint commitment by the city and the Cégep to develop solutions to reduce the environmental impact of transportation.
Since then, IVI has gone from strength to strength, expanding with a satellite office in Montreal and new facilities of over 2000 m² dedicated to vehicle development.
As the leading centre for transport electrification and automation in Quebec, we act as a catalyst for innovation and help to position Quebec among the world leaders in these fields.
With a team of more than forty engineers, researchers and technicians, we assist companies and organizations with projects involving the development and integration of innovative vehicle technologies and support them in implementing these technologies in real-life conditions.
From designing an innovative system—such as an electric bus powertrain or battery packs for mining trucks—to developing a complete vehicle prototype—like an autonomous electric agricultural robot—we adapt our approach to our partners’ needs.
With our wide-ranging expertise and experience accumulated over the last 25 years combined with cutting-edge equipment and infrastructure, our CCTT contributes to the success of more than 80 projects a year, carried out for some 50 clients.
IVI has fostered the development of more than 20 innovative vehicles that travel on roads and rails, on water and in the air, contributing to a cleaner and safer world of transport.
