For nearly 15 years, our mission at ChaudièresAppalaches Économique (CAE) has been to stimulate economic development by pooling our members’ assets and services, as well as those of our economic development partners. CAE’s services include business mentoring, entrepreneurship outreach, and support for eco-friendly businesses and eco-innovation.
Since 2018, CAE has positioned itself as a business accelerator and incubator in order to act as a catalyst for innovation within the regional ecosystem. To this end, CAE mobilizes stakeholders to implement structural projects and to help nurture a culture of innovation in Chaudières-Appalaches.
There is exceptional entrepreneurial activity in Chaudières-Appalaches, a region known for its economic dynamism and innovation potential. This region offers both wide open spaces and vibrant urban environments simply overflowing with possibilities that combine nature, culture, and local flavors. Thanks to its vitality, Chaudière-Appalaches has had both the highest employability rate and one of the lowest unemployment rates in Quebec for several years now. A few of its key economic sectors stand out due to their ability to innovate and reinvent themselves to meet market needs.
These sectors include the agri-food industry, forest industry, manufacturing, metallurgy, plastics processes, robotics, and information and communication technology. In each of these fields, there are several companies and organizations that demonstrate creativity and boldness in developing innovative products, services, and technology. This region also has several manufacturing companies throughout its territory that are very active in export markets, particularly in the United States.
Finally, Chaudière-Appalaches benefits from a well-positioned innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem, including research and development centers, business incubators, government partners, organizations dedicated to development and coaching, as well as access to financial leverage. These players work hand in hand to boost innovation, encourage business creation, and promote economic growth in the region.
