IVÉO is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate the deployment of innovations in the municipal sector. Its interventions relate primarily to the experimentation and set up of pilot projects responding to the social, environmental and economic issues facing cities.
By acting as an innovation broker between municipal authorities and technology creators, IVÉO promotes a collaborative approach that is essential when dealing with innovation.
The effectiveness of the IVÉO model is based on its “outsourced and pooled smart city office”, a model applied to the network’s fifty or so cities. Its benefits accumulate thanks to the know-how of early adopters, which serves to guide the redeployment of these solutions to other member-cities of the IVÉO network.
Based on the relationship of trust established by member-cities and feedback on projects deployed over the years, IVÉO has also positioned itself as an innovation accelerator seeking to develop smarter, more sustainable cities.
In addition to serving its partner-cities by qualifying new solutions, IVÉO allows companies to validate their technologies and market
potential through pilot projects. These test benches make it possible to refine a solution in real time and become an essential springboard for the commercialization of technological innovations dedicated to the development of smarter, more sustainable cities.
In keeping with its mission, IVÉO has also developed original impact measurement and decision support tools for the municipal sector. Along with its commitment to sharing knowledge and transmitting the culture of innovation, the IVÉO network emerges as a guarantee of success in the development of the cities of tomorrow.
Active since January 2018, the IVÉO team supports cities and innovative companies in areas such as sustainable mobility, energy efficiency and the removal of carbon from buildings as well as sustainable water management.
Over time, the portfolio of qualified innovations responding to more than 100 municipal issues, has made it possible to deploy more than a hundred projects in cities. With a pool of companies consisting of more than 550 contacts and bringing together a network of more than 50 partner-cities, IVÉO is a key player in the Québec and international innovation ecosystem.
