A real WordPress site is one where you have the administrator login, can install any plugin or theme you want, and can move the whole site to another host without rebuilding it. All seven AI builders here set up WordPress and will write your first pages for you.

If you already pay for hosting, Divi AI [1], the website kit from Elementor [2] and the Hobby plan from ZipWP [3] will all work there. The other four set WordPress up on their own hosting, so choosing one of them also means choosing where the site lives.

What Makes an AI-Built WordPress Site Yours

A WordPress Admin Login

The admin area, often called wp-admin, is where you manage every page, setting and user account. If you created the administrator account yourself or were handed it at setup, you already have the most important part.

If a builder only ever shows you its own editor, you can change what that editor allows and little else.

Open Plugin and Theme Installs

Inside the dashboard, Plugins > Add New should open the plugin directory, and Appearance > Themes should let you switch themes. Those two screens are how you add a booking form or a shop later.

A builder can hand you a working dashboard and still switch those screens off, so check both.

The Theme or Page Builder You Inherit

Most AI builders generate pages inside a particular theme or page builder, such as Divi, Elementor with its Hello theme, or Astra with Spectra, and you keep editing in that tool afterward.

Leaving it later can mean redoing layouts, although your posts, pages and images stay in WordPress.

Moving to Another Host

WordPress is open source, so a standard WordPress site can be copied to any host that runs it, with a migration plugin or by the new host’s team [4].

Some vendors put that promise in writing. Where one doesn’t, the move usually works like any WordPress migration, as long as you have the admin login.

1. 10Web

10Web [5] puts generation, editing and hosting into one product, so there is no separate host to choose or connect. Its builder page says the site is “built on WordPress,” and you edit in 10Web’s own editor by typing a request, pointing at something to change it, or adding custom code.

AI Starter is $10 a month, listed as $120 for the year at 50% off. That covers one site, 100 AI credits a month and 10,000 monthly visitors. A one-week free trial includes every feature, though the page doesn’t say whether that yearly price renews unchanged.

Your site stays on 10Web’s hosting, and while its pages describe one-click migration into 10Web, they don’t describe a route back out, so ask how an export works before you build.

2. Divi AI

Divi AI, from Elegant Themes, runs inside your own WordPress install on whatever host you already use, so the admin login, the plugin screen and the choice of host all stay with you. It creates whole sites or single pages from a prompt, and Divi Quick Sites builds a full site with consistent global styles.

The Divi Pro bundle, which includes Divi AI, costs $277 billed yearly. If you already own Divi, Divi AI alone is $193 a year.

What you inherit is Divi itself. Your pages are built in the Divi theme and its Visual Builder, and hosting is a separate bill.

3. Bluehost

Bluehost [6] makes the clearest written promise about leaving. Its help article says you own your content and data and “can move your site to any other WordPress-compatible host if you choose.”

The same article, updated on September 22, 2026, also says you “cannot install, deactivate, or delete plugins, or install and switch themes” on the AI-built site, though you can edit it in the WordPress dashboard. A Bluehost blog post says the Get Online plan unlocks “full plugin functionality.” Since the two pages disagree, ask Bluehost which one applies to your plan before paying.

Get Online is $9.99 a month on a 12- or 24-month term, or $15.99 month to month, with a 14-day free trial.

4. Elementor

Elementor’s AI Site Planner turns a chat-style brief into a sitemap and wireframe, and you set brand colors, fonts and a logo along the way. From there, Elementor either launches a temporary site on its own hosting that lasts 14 days, or gives you a downloadable website kit to import into WordPress on any host [7].

That kit gives Elementor a real portability advantage among the plugin builders. The kit does tie you to the Elementor plugin and the Hello theme, and Elementor calls the brief a one-time generation that can’t be linked to the live site afterward. Angie, its newer AI plugin, installs from Plugins > Add New and has a free plan with daily credits.

5. ZipWP

ZipWP is made by Brainstorm Force, the team behind Astra, and it can be paid for once and used on hosting you already have. Its Hobby plan costs $99 one time for 5 AI site generations, and ZipWP says the result stays a standard WordPress site you can migrate to another host.

If ZipWP hosts the site, Starter is $99 for the first year and renews at $149, with Astra Pro and Spectra Pro included. Those two are what you inherit on every plan, since the generated sites are built on them. The free plan allows 2 generations, but its sandbox sites stay active for only 24 hours.

6. Hostinger AI Website Builder for WordPress

Hostinger’s [8] WordPress builder puts your pages in the standard Gutenberg block editor, with themes and plugins open to install as they would be on any WordPress site. There is no third-party page builder to carry forward.

Hostinger also sells a separate AI Website Builder that is not WordPress, so make sure your plan says “for WordPress.” Every plan on the WordPress page comes with the builder, a domain name, email and AI tools. Its unlimited features fall under Hostinger’s Fair Usage Policy.

7. GreenGeeks AI Website Builder

GreenGeeks runs its builder as a “WordPress + AI” option when you install WordPress from its dashboard. You create your own admin account during that install, and when the AI finishes, you arrive in wp-admin with a Site Assistant menu.

The AI’s pages are a first draft, filled with placeholders or sample content for you to replace. GreenGeeks doesn’t name the theme or editor it sets up.

Can You Log In, Install a Plugin and Leave?

Three checks tell you most of what you need.

  1. Log in at wp-admin with an administrator account that is yours.
  2. Open Plugins > Add New and try an install, then look at Appearance > Themes.
  3. Look for a written export or migration route.

Several of these builders let you run the checks for free. 10Web has its one-week trial, and Divi AI works inside your own install, so you can check it there. Bluehost has its 14-day trial, Elementor its 14-day hosted site and ZipWP its 24-hour sandbox. On Hostinger, run them on the plan labeled for WordPress. On the GreenGeeks AI Website Builder [9], look hardest at the theme the AI chose, since you meet it only after the install. Where two builders pass all three checks, the one placed higher in this list is the safer default.
