Pomega Energy Storage Technologies

In a world racing to decarbonize and decentralize energy, Pomega Energy Storage Technologies has emerged as a linchpin in America’s clean energy transformation. Headquartered in Virginia and South Carolina, this forward-thinking battery energy storage company delivers scalable, safe, and sustainable energy solutions—100% Made in the USA.

A subsidiary of global energy and engineering powerhouse Kontrolmatik Technologies, Pomega marries world-class expertise with American innovation. The result? A fast-growing enterprise that is reimagining how we store, deliver, and manage electricity in the renewable age.

End-to-End Energy Storage, Built to Last

Pomega’s fully integrated model sets it apart—offering everything from LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery cell manufacturing to turnkey battery energy storage systems (BESS) deployments. Whether powering homes, businesses, or utility-scale grids, Pomega provides the full value chain under one roof.

“Our mission is to make energy storage not just safer and more reliable, but smarter,” says Orkun Ozgencil, Chief Operations Officer. “From design to installation to long-term maintenance, we’re a true one-stop partner. And because we’re based here in the US, we can move faster and stay closer to our customers.”

At the heart of Pomega’s offering is its advanced LFP battery technology—renowned for its stability, long cycle life, and fire-resistant chemistry. These cells are engineered to be modular and highly compatible, easily integrating with a broad range of existing systems. It’s a product built with flexibility and future-proofing in mind.

“Our customers want more than just batteries—they want solutions,” says Jeff Stoddard, Chief Financial Officer. “That’s why we’ve invested heavily in R&D and systems engineering. We’re not selling parts—we’re building ecosystems.”

Global Backbone, Local Impact

While proudly American-made, Pomega’s capabilities are global in scale and ambition. As part of Kontrolmatik Technologies—one of the top systems integrators in the world—Pomega brings deep expertise in power generation, transmission, and energy project development.

Its flagship Gigafactory in Polatli, Turkey, is already operational, producing advanced LFP cells at a capacity of 500 MWh annually. Phase two of the factory, slated for the end of 2025, will increase production to 3 GWh, with a roadmap to reach 6 GWh by 2027. This state-of-the-art facility is the only privately implemented large-scale lithium-ion factory between Europe and China.

But it’s in South Carolina where Pomega’s next big leap is taking shape.

“We’re bringing this global legacy into the US market in a major way,” says Jamie Abadian, Chief Legal Officer. “Our South Carolina presence allows us to respond to America’s urgent need for domestic clean energy manufacturing while creating jobs and strengthening local economies.”

With its growing clean tech workforce and proximity to major logistics networks, South Carolina offers the ideal environment for Pomega’s ambitious expansion plans.

Innovation That Scales

Pomega’s product suite is engineered to serve diverse use cases—from compact residential storage to utility-grade systems capable of balancing entire power grids.

  • LFP Battery Cells: Engineered in the USA with IRA compliance, Pomega’s core product offers top-tier energy density, safety, and reliability. It’s the ideal solution for both stationary grid applications and flexible modular deployments.
  • Module and Rack Systems: Custom-built to customer specifications, these systems are available with air or liquid cooling, offering precise thermal management and seamless scalability.
  • Residential Energy Systems: Sleek, intuitive, and safe—these all-in-one units integrate with solar arrays or the grid, empowering homeowners to control energy costs and ensure uptime during outages.
  • Industrial Turnkey BESS: Designed for grid operators, renewables developers, and large-scale utilities, Pomega’s utility-scale systems are plug-and-play, fully customizable, and backed by operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

“Our technology is powerful—but our real strength is how we apply it,” says Orkun. “Every installation is tailored to its unique environment, ensuring efficiency, safety, and long-term value.”

Sustainability at the Core

Pomega’s leadership isn’t just technological—it’s ethical. As a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the company is actively advancing principles around human rights, gender equity, environmental stewardship, and anti-corruption through its operations.

“We don’t just make sustainable products—we build a sustainable company,” says Jeff. “Our values guide every decision, from sourcing raw materials to supporting employee well-being.”

Pomega’s sustainability model focuses on five key areas: People, Planet, Productivity, Partnership, and Purpose. This means respecting diversity and inclusion, investing in local communities, minimizing waste through efficient production, and forming alliances with like-minded businesses to amplify impact.

“We believe in a cleaner planet—and a fairer one,” says Jamie. “That’s why we build systems that reduce carbon while also empowering communities.”

A Partner in the Energy Transition

As America moves towards a decentralized, renewables-driven energy future, battery storage is no longer optional—it’s essential. Pomega is not just responding to this demand; it’s leading the charge with American-made technology that delivers performance, peace of mind, and positive impact.

“The transition to clean energy requires more than just innovation—it requires trust,” says Orkun. “At Pomega, we earn that trust daily by showing up, delivering results, and staying true to our mission.”

With powerful products, a global backbone, and a passionate team driving it all forward, Pomega isn’t just building batteries—it’s powering what’s next for America.
