Rebecca Danta, Managing Director
Miami Angels looks for high-impact entrepreneurs with early indicators of product-market fit, and has a strong preference for Florida-based companies. Along with the investment, Miami Angels supports companies through hiring tech talent, raising further capital, and access to its network of investors throughout South Florida and Latin America. Miami Angels was founded in 2014 with the mission to build a venture ecosystem in Miami. With four founding members, the Knight Foundation gave Miami Angels a grant to hire its first Managing Director to grow the investor base and catalyze investment into startups. unity.
Five years later, Miami Angels has 120 investors throughout South Florida, has invested in over 32 companies, and deployed $11 million in capital. All members are accredited investors, however, not all members have invested in the venture capital arena, thus the group has brought many new investors into the asset class. Given this, Miami Angels also trains its investors through its annual angel investor education workshops, which are also open to the South Florida business community.
