For five decades, Medtech Canada has been a strong advocate for healthcare innovation in Quebec. As the national association representing the medical technology industry, our members provide innovations that are used every day to diagnose, treat, and enhance the quality of life of patients in Canada, and around the world.

Medtech Canada engages key stakeholders in government, industry, academia, and the public at large. Our multi-platform approach is patient-focussed, utilizing educational activities, sector and regional committees, as well as direct government consultation – including formal parliamentary submissions. The depth and breadth of this approach allows us to advocate for relevant medical technologies within specific governmental, institutional, and clinical contexts. It ensures that innovative solutions receive the attention and support they deserve.

Our members are active in the development and commercialization of medical technologies in a range of disciplines. Examples include artificial intelligence (AI), personalized medicine, orthopaedics, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging – among many others. These technologies are transforming healthcare, resulting in earlier diagnoses, more accurate and less invasive procedures, faster recovery, reduced hospital stays, and better treatment options. Importantly, they can increase efficiency, which then eases wait times and reduces budgetary stress – critical issues for healthcare systems everywhere.

Medtech Canada is also proud of the economic benefit that comes from our members’ support for Quebec’s dynamic and exciting innovation culture. Ongoing direct foreign investment by multinationals, as well as by an impressive collection of Quebec headquartered companies, sustains a growing population of well-educated, highly-paid knowledge workers, as well as a robust community of academics and researchers. The medical technology sector provides nearly 14,000 jobs in Quebec and the province is home to more than 369 equipment, device and service companies used in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and health problems.

“Medtech Canada is an exceptional source of information for MY01, and the standard bearer of the medical technology industry,” says Simon Sanscartier, CFO of MY01, a Montreal headquartered company that augments clinical assessments by delivering actionable data at the bedside. “The association is attuned to our needs. It is aware of our innovative approach, and represents us tirelessly to improve our business.
