Founded in 2016 by Ragnar Sass, Elise Sass, Elar Nellis and Liis Peetermann, LIFT99 is firmly rooted in Telliskivi Creative City in Tallinn, at the heart of Estonia’s innovation district. The hub is a central meeting place for the country’s startup community and has become a symbol of how a small nation can think big.
Estonia is one of the world’s most digitally advanced countries with its e-Residency and the Startup Visa. LIFT99’s perspective has never been limited to Estonia alone. With its Kyiv hub and a community spanning over 60 countries, the network connects founders across borders. LIFT99’s most prominent initiative, the Estonian Startup Awards, has grown into the largest annual celebration of Estonia’s startup ecosystem. More recently, through HELP99, it mobilized donations from across the globe to deliver vehicles, drones, and essential supplies directly to Ukraine’s defenders.
When crises hit, LIFT99 doesn’t just stand by. During the pandemic, LIFT99 launched #FuckCorona, giving startups space so they could keep building, for free.
