This belief has guided my journey. I began my career in the Office of the President of Estonia, at a time when the world was just beginning to take notice of “e-Estonia” – the bold experiment of building a digital state from scratch. Those early lessons shaped the founding of B.EST Solutions, the company I have had the privilege to lead since 2009.
Our first challenge was in Azerbaijan, where we built a national digital identity system from the ground up and became the operator of critical national infrastructure. Through this work, I learned that the most successful digital nations are the ones that empower their people to thrive within the digital space.
To me, innovation is about responsibility – designing systems that work for all, empowering women and underrepresented groups, and anticipating tomorrow’s challenges from changing needs to post-quantum threats.
