As a woodworking and furniture innovation centre, Inovem has been supporting Quebec businesses since 1983. A true catalyst for innovation, our CCTT has become the benchmark for sustainable technologies in the woodworking, furniture and appearance wood products industry.

Furniture, woodworking and appearance wood products businesses can count on Inovem’s expertise and state-of-the-art equipment. Since 2014 and 2017 respectively, we have operated a low-environmental-impact finishing laboratory and a virtual and augmented reality research and technology transfer laboratory. This demonstrates our commitment to keeping a lookout for new technology and providing businesses with neutral advice on their innovative projects.

Our CCTT is constantly reinventing itself through our ongoing involvement in training activities, technology implementation projects and R & D. What’s more, we have adapted our mission to reflect the realities of the industry—a transition for which we have mobilized considerable resources. Our expertise in wood and related materials now also extends to the building industry, and our work is more focused on digital and ecological progress.

Our strategic positioning facilitates knowledge dissemination among key players in the industry: our centre has built up a large network of contacts over the years, comprising manufacturers and their suppliers from various associations and organizations.

Inovem’s proximity to the École nationale du meuble et de l’ébénisterie (ENME) makes it an important player in the development of the skilled workforce of the future. The involvement of teachers and students in applied research ensures an up-to-date curriculum.
