“Don’t worry I am not gonna steal it,” says one of Edsvärd’s co-founders to a man who sits by himself at a table. He is holding on to his backpack for dear life. The man cracks into a warm, bubbly laughter showing off his flawless white smile. His name is Don Carr. This swift moment in time, proved to be an opportunity presenting itself.

Edsvärd, an AI company originating from Stockholm, Sweden was invited to IBM’s prestigious event Think in Boston, in May of 2025. They had been selected by IBM to feature an activation illustrating their usage ofwatsonx.data. Amazingly, the small company from Sweden was one of the first in the world to include watsonx.data in a commercially available product.

Once you stepped into the exhibition hall, Edsvärd’s AI solution for the built environment was the first one you spotted, next to big corporations like Lookheed Martin and Ferrari. Numerous contacts were made that week, but the most important handshake turned out to be the one with Don. Fast forwarding to six months later—Don and his outstanding team members Myron Brown, Paul Curtis and six other colleagues are now running Edsvärd’s Americas division, springing out of Lake Nona, a smart city nearby Orlando Airport in Florida.

Edsvärd was founded in 2022 by an entrepreneur, Zoran Grahovac, a brain scientist, Katarina Gospic, and an engineer, Alexander Edsvard. Early on they became a business partner to IBM—a key strategic decision. The company started with a digital coordination solution for the built environment. Ever since, their product portfolio has evolved and now includes products like AI Charlie—an AI assistant for technical maintenance, Contract Intelligence and Redact.

Contract Intelligence allows deep insights into contract fulfillment, deviations, defaults, and potential penalties, and helps empower enterprises to manage revenue and compliance more effectively. Redact is the perfect digital AI seatbelt that every company and institution should use to increase compliance with GDPR and similar personal data laws.

Edsvärd’s descriptive AI technology stands out as they have succeeded in creating intelligence from both unstructured and structured data thanks to a unique AI architecture that allows them to train on domain specific data and customer data, generating a very high accuracy. They make “dead” information come alive—making data actionable. In 2025 Edsvärd was chosen by IBM to be one of the first companies in the world to implement IBM’s Power 11 hardware that has extra ordinary AI capabilities and is post-quantum safe.

As the global landscape is quickly changing, so does customer requirements. Throughout the latter half of 2025 Edsvärd has focused on offering scalable enterprise ready solutions that are cloud agnostic and can be implemented on prem as well. Not only are Edsvärd’s AI solutions disruptive by automating core working processes in various business segments, but they are also unique as a team. Their AI architect, Ari Juntunen, has been awarded the prestigious title “IBM Champion” in 2019 and parts of the Edsvärd team sits on IBM’s watsonx.data advisory board—playing a strategic role in shaping the future of AI-driven platforms.

Exciting times are ahead. The escapement and pendulum have been installed, and the pendulum just got a gentle push. That first steady tick-tock has announced its presence. Edsvärd’s clock has been put in beat, and Don is firing off his million-dollar smile like never before.
