Pablo Casilimas - INNOVATE® Seattle Publishing Partner

Pablo Casilimas is the co-founder and managing partner of OneSixOne Ventures, a venture capital fund and accelerator based in FL.

Pablo attended the University of Florida’s Innovation Academy from 2014-2017. During his time at UF, he was actively involved with the UF Entrepreneurship Club, Gator Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club and the Gator Salsa Club. He also served as a resident assistant and an ambassador for the Innovation Academy. During his 3rd year, he founded Rootex, a content marketing agency and then he dropped out a year later to focus all of his efforts on his company. Rootex went on to do work for the City of Gainesville, the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, North Florida Regional Hospital, the University of Florida as well as several tech companies & non-profits in the region.

In 2017, Pablo and his partner Justis Mendez began hosting networking events to help early stage startup founders connect with mentors, investors and partners. They launched a virtual accelerator in 2020 after the pandemic forced them to cancel all in-person events. Within 14 month of launching the accelerator, the program helped over 35 companies raise over $10m in venture funding across 4 cohorts.

During that time period, OneSixOne Ventures sourced deals for several firms based in Florida and Pablo was even selected to be 1 of the first 4 scouts for FloridaFunders, the top VC firm in the southeast according to Pitchbook. Pablo and Justis then set out to raise their own fund and in February 2022 they had their first close. OneSixOne Ventures is backed by the Cade (Gatorade) family, a former chair of the Florida Venture Forum and Tampa Bay Ventures, a fund they have sourced several deals for.

In his free time, Pablo enjoys power-lifting, dancing salsa, hiking, going to breweries, watching UFC and going to dog parks with Denali, his spoiled Doberman-Pinscher.
